Thoughts About Seraph of CLG

As we all know, CLG got a new top laner which they imported all the way from Korea. Seraph was from Najin White Shield and though he only played 1 pro game, a lot of hype was created around him. And since he was from Korea, people started assuming that he would be one of the "Korean Overlords" and would ensure CLG the wins and the spot for the Worlds, but as of now, Seraph isn't living up to the hype.

According to this interview, Seraph himself said that his condition is not very good since his nerves always gets the best of him. In OGN, they have booths so they can't really hear the scream and cheers of the fans, but in the NA LCS, they have no booths so they can hear everything. And it also, having the pressure of performing well (since he is korean) can really get into him. From Doublelift's interview (which you can watch here) after their game with Dignitas, that Seraph felt really sick and he had to throw up. It really does show that Seraph is still struggling with so many things. Aside from his nerves, his communication with the rest of the team still needs tweaking since we could see that Seraph isn't even talking with his teammates. But I'm pretty sure after a few more games and weeks, we will see a vast improvement with Seraph and his synergy with the rest of the CLG.

Mechanically speaking, Seraph is a really good player. He plays AD Nidalee really well and he can play other champions too. I don't know why they keep on having him play Shyvana over and over again, since Seraph has a pretty big champion pool. I know Shyvana offers good CC but if it doesn't work with Seraph, then maybe CLG has to let Seraph pick other champions. Maybe Seraph's trying to adapt to the NA meta so he keeps on playing champs that are always seen on the NA scene, but he should whip out some champs on the korean top lane meta and it might even catch other teams off guard and would give out good results.

People might be really disappointed since Seraph isn't living up to the hype, but give him a chance. He's trying his best to get in sync with his team and to fight his nerves. Just keep on a look out. Seraph will surprise us all with an amazing play.

Go follow him and give him your love and support. He's a charming kid, especially during his streams. He still has broken english, but he's trying his very best to communicate with everyone.

Patch 4.9 Notes

The patch 4.9 notes have been released. To read the entire patch note, you can click here, but if you're too lazy to read them, here's the TL;DR:

Karthus: Gets a visual upgrade. His Q also gets a visual upgrade where you can now see its AoE. The champs who gets hit by his W is now marked.

Braum: He gets a nerf! His base damage gets lowered and his passive does not proc anymore when enemy champs have spell shield up. Q gets lowered too, W gets nerfed too and they fixed a bug on E where some effects could get through it.

Kassadin: Was reverted back to the 4.6 Kass. Base speed was lowered and is the W.

Kha'Zix: K6's Q gets nerfed too along with its isolation bonus damage. The evolved Q deals an additional bonus damage, but the execute was removed. His W gets bonus damage to monsters, while his evolved W gets bonus damage too and if it hits the enemy champion, K6 gains sight of them. R no longer grants the damage reduction while on stealth.

Pantheon: So basically, he's untouchable when he jumps off until he makes that great mandrop to squash the squishy champs.

Rengar: His passive gets a fix. Yeah. The damage on his Q can no longer crit but bonus damage can still proc.

Rumble: Just a few bug fix on his Q.

Soraka: When the enemy champs gets hit by her ever so annoying Q, the CD on her W lessens.

Recall Bugfixes: They get a bug fix since they cancel their recall animation sometimes. Diana, Elise, Kha'Zix, Nami

Moar Bugfixes: On Elise and V--V--Volibear.

Jungle (Summoner's Rift): The jungle minions doesn't give additional experience based on their level.

Kha'Zix (Twisted Treeline & Crystal Scar): The Q and the Evolved Q has now less bonus damage.

Friend List: Has been upgraded and added new functions.

Team Rewards: Rewards for the Ranked Teams.

Wards: Ward skins are now used on your trinkets too.

Skin Updates: Pentakill gets a new splash art. Pentakill Sona & Pentakill Mordekaiser gets visual upgrade.

Skin Release: Woad Scout Quinn will be released during 4.9
